DAVID ATKINSON 
 (Bill Woolley)

David Atkinson was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Decatur, Georgia. He got his start in acting when a high school music teacher required him to either serve detention or be in the school musical.

 Atkinson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Georgia and began his professional career in acting and directing in Chicago. Since moving to Hollywood in 1991, Atkinson has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including his most recent film project, Proof Of Innocence, starring Joely Fisher and Denise Richards.

Atkinson plays Bill Woolley in the upcoming film  50 to 1, produced and directed by Oscar winner Jim Wilson. He has also appeared in the film Gravity, by Spanish director David Victori and winner of YouTube’s international Your Film Festival; Christmas With the Kranks, starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis; Arthur Hailey’s The Detective, starring Tom Berenger; and The Last Producer, starring Burt Reynolds.

Atkinson had a recurring role in the Hallmark Channel series McBride, starring John Larroquette, as well as roles in the television series Scandal, True Blood, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Justified, According to Jim, Surviving Christmas, Straight From The Heart, La Femme Mustketeer, Suddenly Susan and Hard Ground.

A member of the Actors Co-op Theatre Company in Hollywood, Atkinson remains active on stage around the country. Theater credits include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Urban Cowboy the musical (Houston), the world premier of the musical Trails at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, Guys And Dolls, The Foreigner, The Dreamer Examines His Pillow, Steven Berkoff’s Lunch (Chicago), and You Can’t Take It With You, Man of La Mancha, The Spitfire Grill, The Boys Next Door, The Traveling Lady, Makin’ Hay, A Hatful of Rain, Big River, To Kill A Mockingbird, All In The Timing, See How They Run (Los Angeles). Others include Shakespeare’s Othello; You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown; The Music Man; Scapino; Oklahoma!; A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum; and The Pirates Of Penzance. He has also appeared with as an improvisational player with The Annoyance in Chicago and Liquid Comedy in Los Angeles.

David also owns the voice casting/loop group called Vocal Yokels.
