Hugo Perez was born in Allende Coahuila, Mexico, and later moved to Austin, Texas - a city he now calls home. Perez started acting in 2001, and soon after appeared in Ariel Dorfman’s onstage drama, Death and The Maiden. Based out of Austin and Albuquerque, New Mexico, Perez quickly impressed casting directors and filmmakers, earning a resume of impressive credits.

A versatile actor, Perez has appeared in a wide selection of films, including Friday Night Lights, starring Billy Bob Thornton; Fast Food Nation, starring Wilmer Valderrama; Harold & Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay, starring John Cho and Kal Pen; Middle of Nowhere, starring Susan Sarandon; and Machete, directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro. It was the film Goodfellas, starring De Niro, that inspired Perez to become an actor. He said his career reached a milestone when he worked with De Niro in Machete and became “one of the guys.”

On television, Perez has appeared in a variety of hit shows, including the two-time Emmy nominated miniseries The Lost Room, as well as Wildfire, Prison Break, Dallas and A&E’s wildly popular television series Longmire.

Perez’s upcoming films include Dear Sidewalk, starring Joseph Mazzello; and
50 to 1,
starring Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane and William Devane.

Perez is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
