SUNDAY REST
(Mine That Bird)
Foaled February 17, 2009, in Arizona, thoroughbred
racehorse Sunday Rest made his racing debut at Turf Paradise
Race Course in Phoenix, Arizona, in October 2011. Although
he never made it to the Winners Circle there, Sunday Rest
ran four races, placing third his second time out.
Relocated to Canada, Sunday Rest was in training
for the 2012 Calgary Stampede Chuckwagon Race, when trainer Bill
Lawrence discovered him in a talent search involving more than
400 horses. On July 15, 2012, Lawrence purchased Sunday Rest,
|
who appeared only six weeks later in his first
movie role, playing the famous Kentucky Derby winner Mine That
Bird in the film 50 to 1.
A natural actor, Sunday Rest quickly adapted
to the film business, demonstrating brilliant comedic timing,
often stealing scenes from his human-actor co-stars. Sunday Rests
athleticism and broad emotional range continues to impress filmmakers
throughout the industry.
When not auditioning, Sunday Rest resides with
Lawrence in Washington State. |
